Location:S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center
DescriptionRicky Skaggs, 14-time Grammy Award winner, and his bluegrass band Kentucky Thunder will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 24, at LeTourneau University’s S. E. Tickets range from $31-$49, and a pre-concert dinner is also being offered for $15 per ticket.

Ricky Skaggs is the leading proponent for roots revival in music. His past ten bluegrass albums, all from his family record company, have been consecutively nominated for Grammy Awards, and seven of those ten received the award. He was five years old when he received his first mandolin, and he made his debut in the Grand Ole Opry at the age of seven. As he reached his late teens and continued into his 20s, he began professionally recording, and by 2008 he had released 35 albums.

Newgrass, Haley Dykes’ signature sound, is a blending of traditional bluegrass with modern pop-rock. Haley Dykes picked up the mandolin at age 11 and began performing with her father while he traveled, eventually recording her own album and performing at her own concerts.

Tickets are $49 for first orchestra Level A seating, $43 for second orchestra Level B seating, $37 for lower balcony Level C seating and $31 for upper balcony Level D seating.
