Lady Jackets Netters Snuff Out Louisiana College 9-0
LONGVIEW, TX – With a 5-4 victory over the University of the Ozarks last Friday, the Lady Jackets
had an opportunity to make the ASC playoffs…with some help. The help came the next day from that
very same Ozarks team, as they beat UTD’s women 5-4. On Wednesday, the Lady Jackets got to face off
against their last ASC East challenger of the season, Louisiana College. The team knew they needed
to sweep all nine matches of the match to win the tiebreakers with both the University of the
Ozarks and UT-Dallas…a tough task to ask of a team, especially with pressure on them. The doubles
started off real well, as the team only gave up 3 games total in the 3 matches. Caitlyn Hairell
(SO-San Marcos, TX) and Jessica Tindall (SR-Van, TX) paired for an 8-0 victory over Mahzambie/Ward.
The duo are now 7-4 on the season together. Mary Lauren Bright (SO-Gladewater, TX) and Katie
Leatherwood (SR-Athens, TX) also paired for an impressive 8-2 win over Givens/Elder. In moving over
