Lauren Gentry begins her third season as the head women's golf coach at LeTourneau.

Gentry, a former Academic All-American at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, comes to the LeTourneau family as a recommendation of the former LETU men’s golf coach, Dr. Andy Woodring, who had served as both the men’s and women’s coach for the last nine years.

Gentry, a Breckenridge, Texas native, played on the state championship 3A women’s golf team at Breckenridge High School and finished in sixth place individually.  While at UMHB, she was a three-time all-American Southwest Conference honoree and played on four conference championship teams.  Her UMHB team finished as the NCAA Division III Runner-Ups, three times and finished in fourth place, once during her career.

Gentry graduated from UMHB with a degree in sociology and a minor in business administration in 2004.  After graduation, she began work as the Assistant Director of Recruiting at UMHB and served in that capacity until accepting the LeTourneau position.

In the 2009-10 season, Gentry coached Leslie Lee to the NCAA Division III National Championships as the individual finished sixth nationally, while earning Honorable Mention All-American Honors.

Gentry and husband, Aaron, who is the assistant baseball coach at LeTourneau, married in the fall of 2009 and currently lives in Longview.
