  Markeith Brown enters his first year as head women's cross country coach at LeTourneau.
 
  Brown spent his collegiate years at East Central Community College and Nicholls State University. After college, he became the head freshman boys basketball coach and assistant boys varsity basketball coach at Central Lafourche High School in Raceland, La. His duties include strength training, fund-raising and developed all practice plans from 2004-06.
 
  While working at Central Lafourche, he founded MB (Markeith Brown) Basketball Training from 2005-07. He was the head coach of Nike sponsored Louisiana Select 16-year old team that won two major national tournaments in 2006 (Next Level Ballers in Dallas and Kingwood Classic in Houston).
 
  After leaving Central Lafourche, Brown became the head boys basketball coach at Vermillion Catholic High School, which captured the Bi-District Championship and were Regional Finalists during the 2006-07 season. For the team’s accomplishment, Brown was named Vermillion Parish Coach of the Year. He also was the head cross country coach and girls track coach for a year.
 
  But the next stop for Brown wasn’t at the high school level. He became the head coach of the Lake Jackson Lakers of the Texas Professional League from 2007-08 and became owner of the Texas City Rangers of the ABA (American Basketball Association) from 2008-09.
 
  Brown is married to wife, Julie and the couple have one daughter, Jayda.
