Tennis teams open spring break with a loss
CLINTON, Miss. – The LeTourneau University tennis teams opened spring break with a
pair of losses as the YellowJacket men fell Thursday afternoon to Mississippi College, 6-3, while
the women lost 9-0 in an American Southwest Conference East Division match.
In men’s action, the YellowJackets fell behind 2-1 after doubles play as Mikey Parker and Uli
de la Fuente defeated Walter Freeman and Jacob Womack, 8-6.
LeTourneau won two singles matches as David Robbins, No. 2 singles, and Wade Sinard, No. 4
singles, earned victories.
In women’s action, the YellowJackets dropped all three doubles matches to fall behind 3-0.
Mississippi College wrapped up the match by taking all six singles matches to get the win.
LeTourneau traveled Friday to Mobile, Ala., to take on Spring Hill College and the
YellowJacket men won 9-0, while the women dropped an 8-1 decision.
