  In his first season at the helm at LeTourneau, Haesecke's team tied a school record for ties in a season with four. The 2009 team was resilient throughout the season and fought hard in coming from behind. Under Haesecke, YellowJackets goalkeeper Kyle Davis stopped five penalty kicks, including three in one game. He coached Dillon Holt and Trey McLaughlin to ASC First and Second Team honors. Patrick Thompson, Ben Stoeckman and Sergio Palacios garnered honorable mention honors.

  Haesecke, who has coached soccer for 12 years, comes to LeTourneau University from Christian Academy of Guatemala in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Central America, where he served as men’s soccer coach and Physical Education Instructor from 2001-2009. He helped guide the team to the quarterfinals in the National Tournament of Guatemala, Copa Escolar as head coach.

  Prior to working in Guatemala, Haesecke served as a Bible Teacher and boys and girls soccer coach at Heritage Christian School in Milwaukee, Wis., from 1996-2001. He helped guide the team to the WISAA State Championship as an assistant coach in 1999.
 
  Haesecke, who was a member of the All-Citrus Belt League and Team MVP during his senior year at San Gorgonio High School in San Bernardino, Calif., where he graduated in 1991, attended Texas A&M University for one year before completing his final three years of college at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Ill., from 1992-95. While at Moody Bible Institute, he was a two-time All-District member and an NCCAA All-American selection in 1994 when the team won the NCCAA National Championship. A two-time captain at Moody and a member of the NCCAA All-Tournament Team, Haesecke graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education.
  
  Haesecke, who graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2001 with a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2001, has a USSF National “B” license. He is married to wife, Rebecca and they have three children: Leorah, 8, Brayden, 4, and Logan, 3.

ASSISTANT COACH - James Wright

  

 

 

  James Wright, one of the most decorated players in LeTourneau University soccer history, will serve as an assistant coach for the ninth straight season.  A native of Grimsby, England, Wright played, started and was team captain for four straight years for the YellowJackets and earned numerous postseason awards, including NCCAA and NAIA All-America honors.


  Wright was voted to the National Soccer Coaches Athletic Association (NSCAA) All-America first team as a senior.  He also coaches for the Longview High School boys team where he was named the 2006 District Coach of the Year.  Wright and his wife Margaret, reside in Longview.
