Tomaszewski and Smith claim All-West Region honors
LONGVIEW – LeTourneau University baseball players Nate Tomaszewski and Logan Smith
added to their postseason accomplishments Wednesday as the pair earned spots on the American
Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-West Region Third Team for NCAA Division III.
Tomaszewski (Dove Canyon, Calif.) received the honor as a first baseman. He earned American
Southwest Conference East Division First-Team honors after having a tremendous sophomore
season.
In 40 games, Tomaszewski set a LeTourneau single-season record for doubles with 20. He was
second on the team in batting with a .404 average. He recorded 63 hits, 42 RBIs, 38 runs scored and
nine homers. He was 10-of-14 in stolen bases. Nationally, Tomaszewski was eighth in doubles and 18
th in doubles per game. He also ranked 35
th in total bases and 66
th in home runs.
Smith (Terrell, Texas) earned the honor as an outfielder and was named the ASC East Freshman
