Step 1:

If you are accepted to attend LeTourneau University, you will be sent:
  1. I-20
  2. I-901 SEVIS fee receipt
  3. Acceptance letter(s)

Step 2:

Obtain a passport.

Step 3:

Apply for an F-1 visa at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate

The Visa Application Interview:

What to expect: The Visa interview can be a nervous time for a student. Here are some tips for your Visa application interview:

Tip #1:

Be informed before applying for a student visa. You can get information at www.usembassy.org and then choose your country of origin.

Tip #2:

Apply for a Visa in a timely fashion. Check the visa wait times in your country at the US DOS Visa Wait Times Website.

Tip #3:

Bring your documentation, such as:
  • I-20 form
  • I-901 visa application fee and photographs
  • Passport
  • Acceptance letter from LeTourneau University
  • Diploma
  • Standardized test scores (TOEFL, SAT, CAT, etc.)
  • Letters and emails from LeTourneau University
  • Documents that support funding for your studies, such as bank documents, etc.
  • Documents that support your intent to return to your home country, such as employment offers, homeownership, etc.
  • Other documents you think might be important

Tip #4:

Be prepared to answer questions, such as:
  • Are you a genuine student, headed to the U.S. for the purpose of studying?
  • Can you pay for your studies?
  • Are really going to America to study and only study, not to work?
  • What is your career plan?
  • What plans do you have after graduation?
  • What family do you have here, and abroad?

Be familiar with LeTourneau University and why you want to attend.
